Indonesian Embassy in Cairo Recognized for Supporting Motorsport Event

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Embassy in Cairo has been recognized for its role in fostering international motorsport cooperation, receiving an award from Egypt’s Automobile & Touring Club for supporting the 2025 REV IT UP Championship.

According to a statement from the embassy received in Jakarta on Monday, January 19, 2026, the award - presented on January 16, 2026 - was given not only to the embassy but also to Baraka Trading & Contracting Est. for its contribution to the REV IT UP Speed Test and Drifting Competition.

Founder of the REV IT UP competition, Captain Sameh, expressed appreciation for the support of both the embassy and Baraka, the exclusive distributor of Gajah Tunggal (GT Radial) tires in Egypt, which helped ensure the success of the event.

Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, M. Syahran Bhakti, welcomed the recognition and said the embassy is prepared to facilitate the participation of Indonesian speed and drifting organizers in Egypt.

He also invited Egyptian organizers to visit Indonesia to explore cooperation, noting that the country has international racing circuits such as Sentul in Bogor, West Java, and Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara.

Baraka CEO Abdurrahman Baraka said his company was proud to serve as a main sponsor of the championship and praised the embassy’s support for importing Gajah Tunggal tires from Indonesia to Egypt. He added that Baraka remains committed to sponsoring future racing events.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Presidential Adviser for Regional Development Maj. Gen. Khaled Hoda expressed hope that Egypt could host an international speed and drifting championship in 2027. ***
